Note: The specific formulation ratios may vary among different sources and dosage forms; refer to the actual product instructions.

Traditional Actions and Indications

Yin Qiao San is traditionally used for Wind-Warmth at its initial stage, with common manifestations including fever, mild aversion to wind, thirst, cough, and throat discomfort or pain. In modern use, it is commonly used for some cases of the common cold and for people with early upper respiratory tract infections presenting with Wind-Heat-leaning manifestations.

Precautions

  • People with pronounced aversion to cold, absence of sweating, clear nasal discharge, or other Wind-Cold-leaning manifestations should not self-administer it solely based on cold symptoms.
  • Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children, older adults, and people with chronic diseases are advised to consult a professional before use.
  • People currently taking other medications should first confirm whether any interactions or other medication restrictions exist.
  • Seek medical attention promptly in cases of persistent high fever, difficulty breathing, severe sore throat, or significant worsening of symptoms.
