Traditional Actions and Indications
Traditionally used for manifestations of excess in both the exterior and interior, with exuberant wind-heat, including fever, headache, thirst, throat discomfort, constipation, and scant, dark urine. Some modern preparations are also used for people with obesity or metabolic-related conditions, but use must be consistent with the corresponding constitution and indications.
Precautions
- Because the formula contains potent herbs such as Ma Huang, Da Huang, and Mang Xiao, it should not be self-administered long term as an ordinary weight-loss product.
- People with hypertension, heart disease, thyroid disease, diarrhea, a risk of intestinal obstruction, or those currently using stimulant medications should exercise caution.
- Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children should not use it without professional guidance.
- If palpitations, severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, or dehydration occurs, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention.
