Note: The specific ingredient proportions may vary among different sources and dosage forms; please refer to the instructions for the actual product.

Traditional Actions and Indications

Traditionally used for manifestations of constrained Yang qi and disharmony between the Liver and Spleen, including cool hands and feet, distending pain in the chest, hypochondria, or abdomen, and emotional constraint. In modern applications, it is commonly used through pattern differentiation for some cases of functional gastrointestinal discomfort or emotion-related abdominal pain.

Precautions

  • Si Ni San is entirely different from Si Ni Tang, which contains Fu Zi, and they must not be substituted for one another because their names are similar.
  • Persistent abdominal pain, black stools, vomiting, or weight loss should first be evaluated by a medical professional to clarify the cause.
  • Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children, and patients with chronic diseases are advised to consult a qualified professional before use.
  • Different preparations should be used according to their instructions.
