|Common Symptoms
Clinical Description:
本病初起,白睛混赤水肿;口渴便干,耳前多伴有臀核,按之疼痛;舌质干,苔燥,脉数有力

- At the early stage, the white part of the eye becomes congested, red, and swollen.
- There may be thirst accompanied by dry stools.
- In front of the ear, a ‘tun he’ (a boil-like hard nodule) often appears, which is painful when pressed.
- When extending the tongue, the tongue surface appears dry.
- The tongue coating is dry.
- Upon pulse examination, the pulse is relatively rapid and forceful.

- Vision becomes blurred and unclear.
- A ring of redness and congestion appears around the cornea (referred to as ‘bao lun hong chi’ or ciliary flush).
- There is a bitter taste in the mouth, and the throat feels dry and uncomfortable.
- Stools are dry and difficult to pass, and urine is yellowish-red in color.
- When extending the tongue, the tongue body appears reddish.
- The tongue coating is yellow, and the tongue surface looks yellowish.
- Upon pulse examination, the pulse is wiry like a tightened string and is somewhat rapid.
