Qing Xin Lian Zi Yin

Overview

Qing Xin Lian Zi Yin is sourced from Volume 5 of the Song dynasty text Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang, [newly added formulas from the Baoqing era]. The original formula was used for patterns of excessive Heart Fire, insufficient Qi and Yin, and exuberance above with deficiency below, manifesting as irritability, dry mouth, abnormal urination, seminal leakage, various strangury disorders, and leukorrhea in women. It is traditionally described as clearing the Heart and nourishing the spirit, supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin, and clearing heat while promoting urination. The original text also states that its medicinal nature is warm and balanced, and that it can “clear the Heart and nourish the spirit, secure essence and supplement deficiency, moisten the intestines and stomach, and regulate and harmonize the blood and Qi.”
