Clinical Description:

目痒不休，难以忍受，灼热微痛，异物感，羞明流泪；眼眵色白，形如黏丝，白睛红赤，色污红或污秽灰黄，重者黑白睛交界处可呈灰黄色胶样隆起；舌质红，苔薄黄，脉浮或数

  • Intolerable itching of the eyes, and rubbing does not bring relief.
  • Accompanied by a burning sensation, mild pain, and a foreign body or gritty discomfort.
  • Photophobia and lacrimation, which worsen with bright light or wind.

  • The sclera is congested and red, often appearing as a ‘dirty red’ or with a turbid yellowish-gray quality.
  • In severe cases, small grayish-yellow jelly-like elevations may appear at the limbus.
  • The tongue appears reddish with a thin yellow coating.
  • The pulse tends to be floating or rapid.
